A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

JORDAN GETHIN, 23, of Hood Road, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 87 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on Hensol Road, Pontyclun, on May 15.

He was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, banned from driving for three years and pay £180 in costs and a surcharge.

CONNOR OCKERBY, 18, of Court Road, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified in Porthkerry on April 30.

He was ordered to complete a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement, banned from driving for 20 months and pay £430 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

PAIGE WILLIAMS, 26, of Riverside Place, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

Her driving record was endorsed with six points.

JONATHAN MORT, 50, of Y Rhodfa, Barry, was banned from driving for 16 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 49 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on Port Road West on May 19.

He was ordered to pay £525 in fines, costs and a surcharge.

GEMMA LOUISE JONES, 37, of Castleland Street, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after she admitted assault by beating on November 30, 2021.

She was ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work, complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement, made the subject of a 12-month restraining order and told to pay £280 in costs, compensation and a surcharge.

AARON WESTLEY GAUGHAN, 42, of Woodlands Road, Barry, was banned from driving for three years after he admitted failing to provide a specimen on May 9.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

SAMANTHA YEWLETT, 40, of Barry Road, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after she admitted assaulting PCs Scott Lean and Joshua Rowlands and public disorder on Market Street on March 30.

She was ordered to complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £430 in costs, compensation and a surcharge.
