CCTV cameras around the Vale are being updated so the area "continues to be a safe place to live."
Vale Council is installing new cameras and updating older ones, and the service will be provided in collaboration with South Wales Police and Cardiff Council.
There will be new cameras on Penarth Esplanade, Kings Square in Barry and Cowbridge.
All 78 static cameras in Barry, Penarth and Llantwit Major will be upgraded.
Cameras in Penarth have already been installed.

Cllr Margaret Wilkinson, Vale of Glamorgan Council cabinet member for public sector housing and tenant engagement, said: "An effective CCTV network helps to maintain the safety of our residents.
"It can identify criminals and provides a significant deterrent, reducing the number of offences committed.
"The new and improved system will enable the council and police to implement real time solutions to local problems, cut response times and ensure that the Vale of Glamorgan continues to be a safe place to live."
The cameras will be monitored constantly at Cardiff Council’s control room and a new viewing facility in Barry Police Station.
