THERE may be disruption to waste collection in the Vale of Glamorgan over the Jubilee Bank Holiday.

Vale of Glamorgan Council has reported that there will “no changes to schedules black bag, recycling, or food waste collections” this week.

They add that there may be localised disruption due to road closures and events marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

“If your black bag, recycling or food waste is not collected please leave this out and our crews will return to affected areas on Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5.”

Vale of Glamorgan Council has also warned of delays to their green waste collection service citing “significant staffing pressures”.

This means that the service will be suspended from today (June 2) to Sunday, June 5.

A spokesman for the council said: “If your green waste is due for collection on one of these days, please do not put it out at the kerbside.

“If your green waste is currently at the kerbside but has not been collected by please take it back in if you are able to.

“Our crews will return on your next scheduled collection day.

“We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.”

Throughout this month (June) Vale of Glamorgan residents can recycle green waste at their local Household Waste Recycling Centre without pre-booking an appointment.
