PUBLIC Health Wales has reported five Covid-related deaths – including two within the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB).

According to the latest Covid data from Public Health Wales there has been five Covid-related deaths in a 24-hour period (up to 9am on Wednesday April 6).

Two of these deaths were within the Cardiff and Vale UHB, with one in the Aneurin Bevan UHB, one in the Betsi Cadwaladr UHB, and one in the Powys Teaching Health Board (THB) according to Public Health Wales.

This brings Public Health Wales coronavirus death toll – throughout the entire pandemic – to 7,207 which includes 937 in Cardiff and the Vale and 21 residents outside Wales.

The latest data from Public Health Wales also includes 537 new Covid cases – 525 in Wales, with 12 reported in residents outside Wales.

Seventeen of these newly reported cases are within the Vale of Glamorgan, while 48 are in Cardiff.
