THE Vale of Glamorgan has once again recorded a higher than average Covid case rate, according to Public Health Wales.

The latest data shows that in the Vale there are 82.3 cases per 100,000 people - the second highest case rate in Wales.

Wales as a whole has recorded and average of 57.5 cases per 100,000 people, while Cardiff has a case rate of 70.

In terms of amount of new cases, the Vale has recorded 110 and Cardiff has recorded 257.

Including residents outside Wales, there are 1,878 new cases in Wales.

There have been no new deaths recorded in the Cardiff and Vale area, but there has been one death in Wales.

This means that 7,051 people have died in Wales since the start of the pandemic.
