THERE has been one death in the Cardiff and Vale area due to Covid, according to the latest data from Public Health Wales.
There has been another nine deaths as well in the rest of Wales, taking the death tolls to 919 for the Cardiff and Vale are and 6,979 for Wales overall.
There have been 44 new cases reported in the Vale of Glamorgan and for the first time in a while Cardiff has less than 100 cases with 87.
Wales has a total of 855 new cases including residents outside of Wales.
The case rate in the Vale is the third highest in Wales with 32.9 cases per 100,000 people.
This is well above the average in Wales of 26.2.
However, in Cardiff the case rate is lower than the average and the capital city has recorded 23.7 cases per 100,000 people.
