MORE than 40 cases of Covid have been reported in the Vale of Glamorgan, according to the latest from Public Health Wales.
43 new cases have been reported in total and neighbouring Cardiff has reported 149.
In total, Wales has 1,059 new cases including residents outside of Wales.
The case rate in the Vale is slightly lower than the average for Wales with 32.2 cases per 100,000 people.
The average case rate for Wales is 33 cases per 100,000 people.
Cardiff again has a case rate higher than the average with 40.6 - the third highest in Wales.
There have been eight more deaths in Wales, meaning that 6,969 people have died in the country according to Public Health Wales Covid figures.
None of the new deaths occurred in the Cardiff and Vale area.
