PUBLIC Health Wales have released data that shows there are more than 60 new cases of Covid in the Vale of Glamorgan.
There are 65 new cases in the Vale of Glamorgan and 266 in Cardiff.
There are 1,857 confirmed cases in all of Wales, including residents outside of Wales.
The case rate in Cardiff is above the average for Wales with 72.5 positive cases per 100,000 people.
The average for Wales is 57.2 cases per 100,000 people, but the case rates around the country vary wildly.
For example, the lowest case rate is 24.8 in Ceredigion, while Neath Port Talbot has the highest case rate in Wales with 78.8.
The Vale has a case rate of 48.7.
There has been one death in Wales, meaning the toll now stands at 6,708.
No new deaths have been reported by Public Health Wales in the Cardiff and Vale area.
All data is correct as of 9am on January 17.
