THERE have been two more deaths in the Cardiff and Vale area according to the latest Covid figures from Public Health Wales.
This means that there has been 905 Covid-related deaths in the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board area since the pandemic began.
In total, there have been 18 deaths in Wales over a two-day period putting the overall toll at 6,707.
The Vale of Glamorgan has recorded 124 new cases of Covid while Cardiff has recorded 501.
The case rate in the Vale is 92.8 cases per 100,000 people, which is lower than the average case rate for Wales which is 122.9.
However, the case rate for Cardiff is higher with 136.5 positive PCR results per 100,000 people.
Including residents outside Wales, there are 3,975 new recorded cases in Wales.
All data is correct as of 9am on January 16.
