A NUMBER of people from Barry ended their 2021 or started their 2022 with a speeding fine.

David Jon Nicholson, 56, of Somerset Road East in Barry appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on January 4 and pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on July 3 where he was caught doing 44mph on the 30mph Plymouth Road. He was fined £66 and given four points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge.

John Paul Greenfield, 42, of White Farm, Barry, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on December 21 where he was found guilty of speeding.

It related to an offence on June 18 where he was caught doing 24mph on the 20mph Butrills Road close to Sant Curig Primary School. He was fined £100 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Justin Francis Henry Hennessey, 51 of Winston Road, Barry, appeared at Newport Magistrates Court on December 31 where he was found guilty of speeding.

It related to an offence on June 24 where he was caught doing 35mph on the 30mph Beaufort Road in Ebbw Vale. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Robert Howard, 36 of Barry Road, Barry, appeared at Newport Magistrates Court on December 14 where he pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on June 6 where he was caught doing 58mph on the 50mph A467 near Tregwilym Road flyover in Newport. He was fined £183 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Thomas Mark Evans, 25 of St Lythan’s Road, Barry, appeared at Newport Magistrates Court on December 31 where he pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on June 28 where he was caught doing 78mph on the 50mph A467 near Tregwilym Road flyover. He was fined £300 and given six points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Leighton John Pellow, 31 of Pendoylan Close, Barry, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on December 31 where he pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on July 19 where he was caught doing 82mph on the 60mph A48 Pensarn. He was fined £200 and given four points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
