THERE has been one more Covid-related death in the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board area, according to Public Health Wales.

There have been 16 more deaths in Wales, with the toll now standing at 6,650 since the start of the pandemic.

There have been 902 deaths in the CVUHB area in total.

The Vale of Glamorgan has recorded 396 new cases over a two-day period.

Cardiff has again recorded the highest amount of new cases in Wales, with 1,191.

Wales in total has 11,693 new cases, including residents outside of Wales.

Despite the high amount of new cases in Cardiff, the case rate is lower than the average for Wales.

Cardiff has a rate of 324.6 cases per 100,000 people, while the Welsh average is 355 cases per 100,000 people.

The Vale has an even smaller case rate, recording 296.4 cases per 100,000 people - the fifth lowest rate in Wales.
