A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

JORDAN CURTIS, 27, of Heol Penycraig, Barry, was banned from driving for 12 months for driving without insurance and without a licence on Close Y Harbwr on September 7.

He was ordered to pay £364 in fines, costs and a surcharge.

MOHAMMED AZAAM HAFIZ, 34, of Barry Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £609 in a fine, compensation, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent at the Sky Plaza Hotel, Rhoose, on November 18, 2020.

DEAN LEWIS, 45, of North Walk, Barry, was sentenced to a two-year community order after he admitted the criminal damage of windows and garden furniture and public disorder in Llantwit Major on December 18, 2021.

He must attend the building better relationships programme for 35 days and must complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Lewis was made the subject of a 12-month restraining order and told to pay £260 in costs, a fine and a surcharge.

FRANKY DYMOTT, 45, of Main Street, Barry, was banned from driving for 18 months for driving without insurance, without a licence and without an MOT certificate on Wessex Street, Canton, Cardiff, on September 23, 2021.

He was ordered to pay £424 in fines, costs and a surcharge.

POPPY STACEY DAVIES, 27, of Northcote Terrace, Barry, was ordered to pay £424 in a fine, compensation, costs and a surcharge after she pleaded guilty to stealing goods worth £150 from B&M at the Waterfront Retail Park on June 12, 2021.

KATIE BISGROVE, 29, of The Philog, Whitchurch, Cardiff, was ordered to pay £229 in a fine, compensation and a surcharge after she admitted stealing goods worth £150 from B&M at the Waterfront Retail Park, Barry, on June 12, 2021.

STESSI LOUISA ALICIA SIMPSON, 42, of Nightingale Place, Dinas Powys, was banned from driving for two years after she admitted driving without insurance and without a licence in Beachway, Barry, and failing to provide a specimen in Cardiff on December 4, 2021.

She was ordered to pay £134 in a fine and a surcharge.
