COMEDIAN Noel James is back with a Welsh Language show at the Miners' Theatre, Ammanford on Friday, December 10.

Noel became an overnight sensation on the UK comedy scene after reaching the semi final of Britain's Got Talent in 2018.

That show gave his 25 year plus stand up career a shot in the arm, resulting in Noel getting more work offers than ever before.

Unfortunately the pandemic stopped the momentum of his career in its tracks.

While the comedy clubs came to a complete stop Noel had to find other ways of plying his trade.

He found some success through performing online.

Earlier this month Noel entered the Uk PunOff Puntest of Champions, which took place via Zoom.

"There was a quarter-final, a semi and a grand final, but I never thought I could win it," he explained.

"For the competition I had to write three original jokes per topic, with four topics per round.

"The standard was very high, and I had to go through two tie breakers, and in the end, amazingly, I came out on top!"

For winning the PunOff Noel was given a medal, which he looks forward to wearing it on his first live gigs back after the lockdown.

His first Welsh Language show back will be at the Miners' Theatre, Ammanford on Friday, December 10.

"I'm very excited about getting back in front of a live audience," Noel said.

"Being forced to write so many new jokes for the competition has helped me get back into 'match fitness'."

Before the lockdown Theatrau Sir Gar featured a regular comedy show of acts new and old, and was growing in popularity.

"We're hoping to come back with a splash, bigger and better than before," he said.

Tickets and details for Noel's Welsh show 'Noel Lawen' on December 10 are available on Theatrau Sir Gar website.
