A NUMBER of people have appeared at magistrates’ courts charged with speeding offences. Here we look at all those who have been in court between October 4 and 24 for charges relating to offences in the Barry area – or are from the Barry area.

Jennifer Cooper, 37 of Lon Owain, Caerau in Cardiff, was fined £100 after pleading guilty to speeding on Jenner Road, Barry. The offence happened on April 11 when she was caught doing 35mph in a 30mph zone.

She appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 14 and received the fine and three points on her licence. She was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

David Anthony Harvey, 41 of Elizabeth Avenue, Barry, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 21, where he was found guilty of speeding. The offence took place on April 3 on Cowbridge Road West, where he was caught driving at 35mph in a 30mph zone.

He was fined £220, given three points on his licence and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and £90 costs.

Steven Davies, 45 of Pardoe Crescent, Barry, pleaded guilty to speeding at Carmarthenshire Magistrates Court on October 18. The offence took place on April 18 on the M4 between J48 and Pontabraham, Carmarthenshire. He was caught doing 83mph on a 70mph road.

He was fined £216 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Daniel Sobien, 28 of Armadale Close, Hereford, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 18 where he was found guilty of speeding. The offence happened on April 20 when he was caught driving at 29mph in a 20mph zone outside Saint Curig Primary School, Butrills Road, Barry.

He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Stanislav Georgiev, 25 of Plymouth Road, Barry appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 21 where he was found guilty of speeding. The offence happened outside Saint Curig Primary School on Butrills Road, Barry, on April 23. He was caught doing 25mph in a 20mph zone.

He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Richard Alexander Stuart-Fox, 77 of Clos Mancheldowne, Barry, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 19 where he was found guilty of speeding. The offence happened on Cowbridge Road West on April 20, where he was caught driving at 35mph in a 30mph zone.

He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Natalia Penberthy, 33 of Port Road East, Barry, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 5. The offence happened on April 11 on Jenner Road, Barry where she was caught driving at 41mph in a 30mph zone.

Jack Fender, 32 of Pontypridd Road, Barry, pleaded guilty on October 8 at Cardiff Magistrates Court to speeding. The offence happened on December 12 on the M4 between J23A and J24 Westbound when he was caught doing 47mph in a 40mph zone.

He was fined £140 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Kim Edwards, 60 of Newhouse Court, Barry, pleaded guilty on October 8 at Cardiff Magistrates Court for speeding. The offence happened on March 9 on Cowbridge Road West, where she was caught doing 35mph in a 30mph zone.

She was fined £140 and given three points on her licence. She was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Nicholas Hedley Druce, 47 of Upper Street, Shere, Surrey, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 14, where he was found guilty of speeding. The offence happened on April 15 on Jenner Street, Barry when he was caught doing 37mph in a 30mph zone.

He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Philip Robert Dyer, 72 of Kingsland Crescent, Barry appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 14, where he was found guilty of speeding. The offence happened on April 15 where he was caught doing 35mph on Jenner Road, Barry – a 30mph zone.

He was fined £100 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
