NEWPORT County AFC expect to appoint a new manager early next week after leaving “no stone unturned” in the hunt to replace Michael Flynn.
Caretaker manager Wayne Hatswell will remain in charge for tomorrow’s League Two encounter with Exeter City in Devon.
He called the shots in the 3-0 win over Scunthorpe and 0-0 draw with Bradford, plus the 4-3 loss to Arsenal U21s in the EFL Trophy.

Hatswell has held the reins while sporting director Darren Kelly interviewed candidates and compiled a shortlist for the board.
County entertain Carlisle United on Tuesday and head to Bristol Rovers on Saturday, with a club statement saying “the process is anticipated to conclude early next week”.
Darren Kelly said: “This was a process that left no stone unturned in our search for a new manager.
“I was hugely impressed with the quality and standard of the candidates and have no doubt the next appointment will be the perfect person to take us forward.
"Our thanks to Wayne Hatswell, the backroom staff and the players for their professionalism.
“Wayne will remain as interim manager until an appointment is made. Thank you for your continued support."
Given the swift turnaround to Carlisle, it remains to be seen who is in the Rodney Parade dugout on Tuesday.
