SIX people have appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court in the past fortnight for breaching coronavirus regulations.

The charges relate to people living in or visiting the Vale of Glamorgan and breaches of the regulations occurred.

Kayleigh White, 29 of Merthyr Street, Barry appeared in court on October 7 and was found guilty of gathering in a private dwelling on Dock Road, Barry, on May 1 during a period of restrictions.

She was fined £1,760 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £176 and £90 costs.

Serena Williams, 21, of Cardiff Road, Dinas Powys, appeared in court on October 7 and was found guilty of gathering in a private dwelling on City Road, Roath on April 11 during a period of restrictions.

She was fined £1,760 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £176 and £90 costs.

Chandler Chick, 22 of St Paul’s Avenue, Penarth appeared in court on October 7 and pleaded guilty to gathering in a private dwelling on City Road, Roath on April 11 during a period of restrictions.

He was fined £320 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and £90 costs.

Robert Junior Royal, 34, of Jackson’s Quay, Barry appeared in court on October 5 and was found guilty of gathering with another person during alert level 4 without reasonable excuse. It related to an incident on March 6 at Aberaeron Close, Barry.

He was fined £1,760 and ordered to pay £176 surcharge and £90 costs.

Caitlin Parry Jones, 19, of Penlan Road, Llandough appeared in court on October 5 and pleaded guilty to gathering with another person during alert level 4 without reasonable excuse. It related to March 20 on Kipling Close in Penarth.

She was fined £320 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Chantelle Jeremy, 20 of Sydenham Hill, Cotham, Bristol appeared in court on October 5 and was found guilty of without reasonable excuse, during the emergency period, contravene restriction left or remained away from a place when living in a local health protection area in Wales. It related to her being in Ogmore by Sea on March 7.

She was fined £1,760 and ordered to pay £176 surcharge and £90 costs.
