THE number of coronavirus cases in the Vale of Glamorgan increased by 21 in the last 24 hours, official figures show.
A total of 8,346 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in the Vale of Glamorgan when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on July 27 (Tuesday), up from 8,325 on Monday.
The rate of infection in the Vale of Glamorgan now stands at 6,248 cases per 100,000 people, lower than the Wales average of 7,571.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 23,228 over the period, to 5,745,526.
However, there were no new coronavirus deaths recorded in the latest weekly period in the Vale of Glamorgan.
The dashboard shows 324 people had died in the area by July 16 (Friday) – which was unchanged from the week before.
They were among 5,583 deaths recorded across Wales.
The figures include anyone whose death certificate – registered in the week ending July 16 – mentioned Covid-19 as one of the causes.
Deaths in Wales are recorded by registration date, and are allocated to the deceased's usual area of residence.
