TOM Hardy surprised beachgoers when he was spotted on Barry Island for the second day in a row.

The actor – whose long list credentials includes Alfie Soloms in Peaky Blinders, Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, Ronnie and Reggie Kray in Legend, and Charles Bronson in Bronson – spent the weekend lapping up the sunshine on Barry Island.

The 43-year-old star has been in South Wales recently, filming for a new Netflix crime drama film Havoc in which he is the lead character.

Havoc is set "after a drug deal gone wrong, when a bruised detective must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, while unraveling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city."

And what better way to blow off the steam of such a serious role than a weekend at Barry Island?

Fans of the A-list celebrity got a bigger thrill than expected when he was spotted at Barry Island Pleasure Park enjoying the attractions including the new Top Scan ride.

Although a post, by the Pleasure Park, revealed that the "legend" Tom Hardy had been there on Saturday people were surprised to see him back on Sunday.

The father-of-three was spotted walking around the fairground and also took a spin on some of the other rides at Barry Island Pleasure Park.

Tom Hardy, who overcame drug addiction in his 20s and was awarded a CBE in the Queen's 2018 Honours, seemed to enjoy the break from filming.

Havoc is due to be released in 2022, although an exact release date has not yet been confirmed.
