A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

KASSAM KHAN, 31, of Cawley Place, Barry, was banned from driving for 16 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with cocaine derivative benzoylecgonine and cannabis derivative delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.

He also admitted driving without insurance and possession of cannabis.

Khan was ordered to pay £369 in fines, costs and a surcharge.

CHLOE WEBBER, 21, of South Walk, Barry, was ordered to pay £511.80 after being convicted of dodging a £3.80 fare while on a train between Cadoxton and Llandaff.

She travelled on a Transport for Wales service without having previously paid the fare and with intent to avoid payment.

The offence under the Regulation of Railways Act 1889 happened on January 13.

Webber was fined £295 and ordered to pay £179 costs, a £34 surcharge and £3.80 compensation.

LOUIS FARMER, aged 34, of Suran Y Gog, Barry, was ordered to pay £1,036 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after it was proven in his absence that he failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

JOSHUA LAST, 33, of Brook Street, Barry, was conditionally discharged for 12 months after he admitted possession of cannabis.

He was ordered to pay £107 in costs and a surcharge.

KAMRAN RASOOL AMAN, 34, of Barry Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £385 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis.

KEVIN BROWN, 58, of Dudley Place, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

ANDREW STANSFIELD, 35, of Earl Crescent, Barry Island, was ordered to pay £665.70 after being found guilty of dodging a £2.70 fare while on a train between Cadoxton and Barry Island.

He was convicted in his absence of an offence under the Regulation of Railways Act 1889.

Stansfield was found guilty of having travelled on a Transport for Wales service without having previously paid the fare and with intent to avoid payment.

The incident happened on January 19.

He was fined £440 and ordered to pay £179 costs, a £44 surcharge and £2.70 compensation.

YADVINDER SINGH, 27, of Ffordd Penrhyn, Barry, was ordered to pay £597 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.
