A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

HARRY EDWARD THOMAS, 23, of Gladstone Road, Barry, was banned from driving for 18 months after he admitted being more than twice the drink driving limit on Court Road on June 11.

He was ordered to pay £528 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

ADAM TIPTON, 28, of Bassett Street, Barry, was banned from driving for 17 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving limit on Barry Road in a Mercedes A180 on June 12.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

SAMANTHA BAKER, 35, of St Paul's Avenue, Barry, was ordered to pay £249 in compensation, costs, a fine and surcharge after she pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly on Holton Road and assaulting a custody detention officer at Cardiff Bay police station on June 11.

SION JONES, 39, of Slade Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £1,598 in fines, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to assault by beating, criminal damage and possession of cocaine.

LEIGH CANNON, 46, of Marcross Road, Ely, Cardiff, was sentenced to an 18-month community order after she admitted stealing a wallet with £60 cash from her victim at Barry’s Waterfront Retail Park and fraud.

She must complete a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement and a thinking skills programme for 19 days.

Cannon was ordered to pay £220 in a fine, compensation, costs and a surcharge.

SCN PROPERTIES LTD, Atlantic Trading Estate, Barry, were ordered to pay £770 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
