AN AUTHOR has been ‘blown away’ by the response to his latest book.

Anthony Lavisher, who lives in Boverton in Llantwit Major, was amazed to see his latest work included in Amazon’s ‘hot new releases’ for the genre days before its general release.

His political thriller, called The Last Tiger, is his fourth book and was included among the likes of work by James Patterson, Tom Clancy, and John Grisham.

“I’ve never been called ‘hot’ before,” joked Mr Lavisher.

“The last week has been truly amazing - the best I have ever had in my 10 years as an author.

“Thank you to all of you who have helped to make this possible for both myself and The Last Tiger. I’ve been completely blown away by your support.”

The Last Tiger was inspired by a trip to India 16 years ago when Mr Lavisher started to imagine what would happen when organised crime met the political jungle of modern India.

OTHER NEWS:

The book – set out in the not-too-distant future – touches on perils faced by protagonist Jon Galnia, a mafia Don and American-Italian ‘Godfather’ in his prime whose private jet crashes over the wilds of central India.

A Welshman also features in the work – Robert Williams, pilot of the crashed jet, grew up around the RAF base in St Athan and features as a key character in the plot.

In the book the world is dealing with the aftermath of 'feline flu' which has eradicated the world’s population of tigers and other magnificent wild cats... making the last tiger on earth very valuable.

The Last Tiger is now available on Amazon.
