WALES is set for some sunshine this week, before plunging back into cold weather this weekend.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist Andy Page has predicted that early in the week there will be temperatures of more than 20 degrees Celsius in Wales, with people able to enjoy some 'March sunshine'.

However, this will change on Easter weekend as cold air from the north will mean a drop in temperature.

Nick Silstone, a Deputy Chief Meteorologist, explained: “Although there are still some uncertainties in the outlook there are signs a high-pressure system could develop by the end of next week allowing cold air from the north to return across the UK bringing another dip in temperatures for Easter weekend."

What does this mean for the Vale of Glamorgan?

Although it was a cloudy start to the day, Met Office predicts sunny intervals this afternoon. There will be maximum temperatures of 14 degrees Celsius today.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 30) should have long sunny spells according to Met Office.

Although parts of the UK will have maximum temperatures of 21 degrees Celsius, Met Office has predicted highs of around 18 degrees Celsius in the Vale, with some cloud anticipated in the evening.

On Wednesday (March 31) there will reportedly be maximum temperatures of 16 degrees Celsius in the Vale, dropping to maximum of 15 degrees Celsius on Thursday, before plummeting to maximums of 11 degrees Celsius over the Easter weekend.
