THE public are being urged to be cautious after a woman was rescued after getting stuck in the mud.
Emergency services – including Barry Coastguard and Penarth Community Resource Team (CRT) – were at the scene, in Barry’s Old Harbour, around midday as a female was stuck in the mud.
Upon Barry Coastguard’s arrival, she was being led out of the mud by South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, with an Incident Response Unit van at the scene.

A medic was also in attendance who was able to check over the woman following her ordeal.
Barry Coastguard, who were paged at 11.53am, have now issued a callout stating: “We ask people to be very careful near this area [Old Harbour in Barry] as mud can be deep and get you stuck very quickly.”
A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "At approximately 11.46am, we received reports of a concern for a person welfare in The Parade, Barry.
"Crews attended the scene and assisted one person to safety.
"There were no reported injuries and the incident concluded at approximately 12.11pm."
