A LOT of people wait for their December pay to finish their Christmas shopping but the weekend’s announcement that all non-essential retail had to close on Saturday night as Wales entered an early lockdown meant that people were rushing to the shops to get some last-minute presents bought.

But if you still need to buy presents – particularly toys - where can you go to get them in time for the big day? Many online retailers are coming to the end of their order periods for delivery in time for Christmas.

Smyths Toys

Stores saw huge queues on Saturday night and the nearest store to Barry is in the Capital Shopping Park in Cardiff. They are offering a click and collect service on their website.

Argos

Barry’s Argos will be offering a click and collect service but the products must be paid for online when ordering. Collections will be given outside the door and there will not be an option to purchase items in the stores.

Returns must be made to an Argos store inside a Sainsbury’s only. The delivery, installation and recycling services are still available.

They are open 8.30am to 8.30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and 8pm until 6pm on Thursday.
