A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

CRAIG GILLETT, 28, of Osprey Court, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he pleaded guilty to burglary with intent at Pets At Home in the town and criminal damage.

He must complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £1,269 in compensation and a fine.

NICOLE ROGERS, 24, of Kingsland Crescent, Barry, was jailed for eight weeks, suspended for 18 months, after she was found guilty after a trial of racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress.

She must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and complete an 18-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Rogers has to pay £748 in costs and a surcharge.

ANGELA JANE MANSI, 43, of Maes Lindys, Rhoose, was banned from driving for 12 months after she pleaded guilty to drink driving.

She was ordered to pay £339 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

SION LESLIE ANSTEE, 33, of Clos Llawhaden, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident, driving without due care and attention and driving without insurance on The Parade.

He must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and complete a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Anstee was ordered to pay £668 in fines, costs and a surcharge.

His driving licence was endorsed with nine points.

MARTIN PIKE, 40, of College Road, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he pleaded guilty to assault by beating.

He must complete a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £335 in compensation, fine, costs and a surcharge.

JASON EDWARD STEPHENS, 32, of Winchester Close, Barry, was banned from driving for six months for driving without insurance and a licence.

He was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

JAMES DARREN GWYNNE, 49, of Greenacres, Barry, was ordered to pay £534 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he admitted driving without insurance.

His licence was endorsed with six points.

TONY MALCOLM MILLS, 40, of Mallory Close, St Athan, was ordered to pay £432 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he was found guilty of driving without insurance.

His licence was endorsed with six points.
