A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

GARY FRANCES BEACHAM, 48, of Holmes Street, Cadoxton, Barry, was jailed for 12 weeks after he admitted assaulting a police officer.

He was also ordered to pay £228 in compensation and surcharge.

CHRISTOPHER WILLIAMS, 40, of Murlande Way, Rhoose, was banned from driving for two years, ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement after he pleaded guilty to being more than three times the drink-drive limit.

He was also ordered to pay £180 in a surcharge and costs.

JORDAN DAVID O'SULLIVAN, 42, of Port Road East, Barry, was ordered to pay £199 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he admitted possession of cannabis.

PAUL ANTHONY PEARCE, 49, of Caernarvon Gardens, Barry, was conditionally discharged for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to stealing three flagons of cider worth £15 and eight cans of Strongbow worth £10 from One Stop in April and May.

He was also ordered to pay £106 in costs and a surcharge.

LIAM BARRINGTON, 40, of Min Y Mor, Barry, was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work after he admitted taking a car without the consent of the owner.

He was also ordered to pay £180 in a surcharge and costs.

JAVED KHAN, 32, of Barry Road, Barry, was fined £40 after he admitted that he failed to comply with the community requirement of a suspended sentence.

JACK RICHARD THOMAS, 23, of College Place, Barry, was conditionally discharged for 18 months and ordered to pay £22 in compensation after he pleaded guilty to the criminal damage of two double glazed windows and crockery.

TERESA ELIZABETH MCCANN, 31, of George Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £331 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance.

Her licence was endorsed with six points.
