A MAN has been jailed after he attacked a woman in a domestic violence case.

Joseph Simon Bowsher, 27, of Angle Close, Barry, was locked up for 12 weeks for assault by beating.

He was found guilty of the charge following a trial at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

Bowsher committed the offence on July 26.

The court was told the attack “was aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending”.

Bowsher was made the subject of a two-year restraining order not to contact his victim.

He was also ordered to pay her £75 compensation.
