A MAN has been found guilty of murdering a “loving” young father-of-two who was killed after being stabbed in the chest with a flick knife.

Jordan Brown, 25, of Holton Road, Barry, was convicted by a jury of the murder of 23-year-old Jordan Davies last Christmas.

After his death at around 4pm on Monday, December 16, 2019, in Barry town centre, the victim’s family paid tribute to him.

They said he was "a loving son, brother and father" and that he would be "greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him".

Mr Davies died from his wounds inflicted by his former friend Brown in front of horrified shoppers.

Michael Jones QC, prosecuting, told the trial at Cardiff Crown Court: “The prosecution say stabbing someone repeatedly with a knife to vulnerable areas such as the chest and stomach is at least an intention to cause really serious harm to a person.

“This isn’t slapping, pushing, or punching someone. This is stabbing them intentionally and repeatedly with a flick knife.

“The defendant accepts he stabbed Jordan Davies and he accepts those actions caused the death of Jordan Davies and he accepts he did it with a flick knife.

“We say the defendant was the aggressor in this incident and he was not acting in self-defence.

“He had absolutely no need or justification to stab Jordan Davies once, let alone repeatedly."

Mr Jones told the jury the pair had been friends but were arguing that afternoon "about some sort of issue with the defendant staring at Jordan Davies’ girlfriend".

After killing him, the defendant ran home and changed his clothes.

Brown also recorded a video message for his daughter in which he said: "I might be going away for a long time but I will come out one day.

"I didn’t mean for any of this to happen."

He had denied murder and claimed he acted in self-defence.

Brown was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on Friday.
