A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

CURTIS SCOTT, 21, of Clos Yr Harbwr, Barry, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drink-driving.

He was ordered to pay £199 in a fine, costs and surcharge.

MICHAEL ASHLEY STEPHEN SPARKS, 18, of Dylan Crescent, Barry, was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £32 surcharge after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Llantwit Major.

JAMES SMITH, 26, of Windsor Road, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-week curfew and a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement after he admitted assault by beating at Cardiff Central Station.

He was also ordered to pay £180 compensation.

KIMBERLEY BRANCH, 45, of Woodlands Road, Barry, was jailed for 18 weeks, suspended for 18 months, after she admitted assault by beating.

She must complete a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £213 in costs and a surcharge.

STUART HOCKEY, 76, of Brookside, Dinas Powys, was ordered to pay £811 in a fine, costs and surcharge and his licence endorsed with six points for driving without insurance in Barry.

GERALD THOMAS, 37, of Main Street, Barry, was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months, and banned from driving for three years after he pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified and being in breach of another suspended sentence.

He must complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and was ordered to pay £228 in fines and a surcharge.

DANIEL BIRKENHEAD WILTON, 36, of Kingsland Crescent, Barry, was ordered to pay £199 in a fine, costs and surcharge after he admitted criminal damage.

VICTORIA TAYLOR, 25, of Ar y Nant, Barry, was ordered to pay £269 in a fine, compensation, costs and a surcharge after she admitted the theft of £30 of meat from Tesco.

CARYS LYNCH, 35, of Ogmore Place, Barry, was ordered to pay £811 in a fine, costs and a surcharge and her licence endorsed with six points for failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver.

EMMA RALPHS, 45, of Castleland Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £172 in a fine, costs and surcharge and her licence endorsed with three points for speeding at 35mph in a 30mph zone.

CHRISTOPHER JOHN WAY, 36, of Gordon Road, Roath, Cardiff, was ordered to pay £197 in a fine, costs and surcharge after he admitted possession of cannabis in Barry.
