WORK on Barry's first Starbucks is nearing completion and the world's biggest coffee chain is looking forward to its opening.
Starbucks preparing to trade in the Barry Waterfront Retail Park, Heol Ceiniog, in Barry, opposite Barry Morrisons.
Costa Coffee opened, in the retail estate in July and Burger King opened its drive-thru in August.
The retail park also hosts a KFC restaurant and drive-thru.

In early 2007, 13 years ago, Starbucks told the Barry & District News it had no plans to establish a store in Barry.
A Starbucks spokeswoman said: “We look forward to opening our doors to customers in Barry in the near future.”
The first Starbucks, known as the original, coffee house was based in 2000 Western Avenue, in Seattle, Washington, USA, from 1971 to 1976.
This cafe later moved to its present location in 1912 Pike Place.
It is a business and tourist attraction.
The nearest Starbucks to Barry is currently in Culverhouse Cross, Cardiff.
