A NOVELIST from Barry Island has marked her university graduation by publishing her fifth romantic suspense.

Award-winning writer, Evonne Wareham recently completed a PhD in Welsh history with the University of Cardiff and is now set to release her latest novel - A Wedding on the Riviera.

The tale will be out as an e-book on September, 22 with an audio version to follow.

Mixing classic romance with a generous sprinkling of crime and mayhem, A Wedding on the Riviera has the added attraction of a glamorous location as a group of friends take on a con man in the South of France.

Ms Wareham, of Phyllis Street, Barry Island, said: “It was fun to return to writing romance, with a hefty dash of crime, after my academic studies.

“In a year of unprecedented and challenging events, I really hope that this story will provide those readers who are looking for some escapist entertainment with a few happy hours of enjoyment.”

In 2012, Ms Wareham was announced as the winner of the Joan Hessayon Award at the Romantic Novelists' Association's Summer Party in London.

The award is given to a writer whose first published work has been through the RNA's New Writers' Scheme - which is how she found her publisher Choc-Lit with her novel Never Coming Home.

A Wedding on the Riviera will be released as an e-book by award winning independent publishers Choc-lit on September, 22 2020.

Ms Wareham has won several awards in the United States.
