TWELVE-YEAR-OLD, Ray Tee will go into battle for a place in the semi-finals of The Voice Kids which will be broadcast this Saturday, August 8.

Whitmore High School, Barry pupil, usually known as Rayne Turner was a hit with the four judges on the ITV talent show which aired in July this year.

Ray Tee, also known as Rayne Turner, wowed will.i.am, Paloma Faith, Pixie Lott, and Danny Jones when they turned for him during his performance of the Skepta hit, That’s Not Me.

Rayne chose will.i.am to be his coach while the US star chose the track Ray Tee performed in the ‘Battle round’.

Rayne writes his own raps, inspired by dad Jamie who was a rapper himself, and performed in front of more than 5000 people at GlastonBARRY.

Mum, Lisa Turner said: “We were all really excited for battle rounds, but nervous too as it’s the first time in Voice Kids history they had three rappers competing against each other

“It was hard too, because they all had to learn a song together, but live so far apart they had to rehearse over the phone.”

But the family were amused about the outfit programme stylists chose for Rayne.

“The cap is Raynes,” Mrs Turner said: “They chose which colour cap they liked and then got him an outfit made to match

“It’s not something we would have chosen.

“He likes shorts to match the colour of his cap, Ray Tee t shirt and white trainers usually.”

The Voice Kids is on ITV at 7.25pm, on Saturday, August 8.
