THE family of a man who died following a collision in Llantwit Major on Tuesday evening, July 28, have paid tribute to him.
Denis Doyle was walking along Boverton Road when he was in collision with a black Honda Civic at around 6.45pm.
Eighty-two-year-old Mr Doyle, a retired teacher and poet, was declared deceased at the scene.
He is survived by sons Francis and William and three-year-old granddaughter Roxanne.

In a statement, his family said: “Denis had a great love of literature, nature, and poetry.
“He moved to Llantwit Major in 2011 to care for his late wife, Susan, and was a regular at many local social events.
“His family would like to thank the people of Llantwit Major for the friendship and support that they provided Denis while he was a resident of the community.
“He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
South Wales Police is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and is appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, saw either the car or the pedestrian prior to it, or stopped to provide assistance to come forward.
