A ROUND-UP of recent Barry cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

STEVEN PIKE, 39, of Dorothy Close, Barry, was banned from driving for 17 months after he pleaded guilty to being more than twice the drink-drive limit on Winifred Road.

He was also fined £337 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £34 surcharge.

TIM KEOHANE, 35, of Hywel Crescent, Barry, was banned from driving for 15 months after he pleaded guilty to drink-driving on Barry Road.

He was also fined £600 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £60 surcharge.

DAVID SANSOME, 63, of Bell Street, Barry, was banned from driving for 17 months after he pleaded guilty to being twice the drink-drive limit at Morrisons on Heol Ceiniog.

He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £34 surcharge.

TEE-JAY RHYS CATON, 29, of Dorothy Close, Barry, was banned from driving for three years after he pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.

He was also sentenced to a 12-month community order and must undertake a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Caton was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £95 surcharge.

KAYLEIGH PAYNE, 25, of Powis View, Barry, was banned from driving for 91 days after she admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.

She was also fined £135 and ordered to pay £100 costs and a £32 surcharge.

BEN THOMAS MAHONEY, 34, of Barry Road, Barry, was banned from driving for six months for driving without insurance.

He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £34 surcharge.

NEIL MALCOLM SMITH, 53, of Harlech Gardens, Barry, was jailed for 29 weeks after he admitted stealing goods worth £585.73 from Waitrose and two counts of driving while disqualified.

The offences were committed in Dorset.

Smith was also banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay a £122 surcharge.

EWAN JAMES BOWLER, 21, of Sycamore, Crescent, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer.

He must complete a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Bowler was also fined £166 and told to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.

HOLLY SIAN COTTER, 27, of Bassett Street, Barry, was conditionally discharged for 12 months after she admitted stealing four bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey from Morrisons in Cardiff, alcohol from Morrisons in Barry and booze from Tesco in Barry.

She was ordered to pay £156 in compensation, £85 costs and a £21 surcharge.

ANTHONY CANNON, 20, of Jacksons Quay, Barry, was fined £60 after he admitted that he failed to comply with supervision requirements imposed following release from a period of imprisonment.

NATHAN GARNER, 32, of Dock View Road, Barry, was fined £40 after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £34 surcharge.
