TWO of Barry’s three Greggs stores have re-opened for business in the town centre today (Thursday June 18).
Greggs, in Holton Road, and its outlet in the same street, are welcoming customers back having been closed since the official UK Government coronavirus lockdown began in March.

In a statement on its website, Greggs said: “As a national retailer, we’re keen to play our part in getting the nation back up and running again and serving the communities in which we operate.
“We continue to follow Government guidelines and will only operate in a way that is safe to do so for both colleagues and customers.”
For customers, only one adult per household is allowed in the store, but children can join them if needed and only card payments will be accepted.
For store colleagues, there will be an increased focus on handwashing and hygiene practices and team members have undertaken social distancing training prior to returning to work.
Behind the counter, marked-out zones allow teams to follow specific “roles” to avoid crossing into another person’s station.
And all colleagues have been provided with PPE that they can use if they wish to do so.
