VISITORS to tourist and sporting attractions as diverse as Cheltenham racecourse, Kew Gardens Kensington Palace, the Oval cricket ground and the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport will likely have had their taste buds tickled by sweet treats provided by a Cwmbran cake firm.
But now La Crème Patisserie has broadened its horizons to respond to the coronavirus crisis, by developing a range of afternoon teas and other products that the public can order from them.

And products made by the firm, based at Cwmbran's Springvale industrial estate, have found a whole new and enthusiastic audience.
Owner Sian Hindle said: “We’ve had to make changes to keep afloat, and have been inundated with orders from all across South Wales.”

While used to making elaborate sculptures and desserts for events, they have translated these ideas into making interesting and intricate designs that anyone can order. The latest design has been a chocolate Ferris wheel, a video of which has been a hit on social media.
“People have loved the afternoon tea Ferris wheel," said Ms Hindle.
"It’s been an effective advertisement for what we can do. All our designs are computer-aided and so we can create anything - the only limitation is your imagination.”

La Creme Patisserie, which started in 2006, now delivers orders to people's homes, and has afternoon tea ranges for vegans and those who are on gluten-free diets.
