POLICE officers are investigating the theft of plants from one of Barry’s green flag parks.

CCTV footage from Victoria Park, in Cadoxton, is being reviewed in and effort to trace the culprits who removed plants from the park's beds.

A Vale council spokesman said: “Around 250 bedding plants, 25 rudbeckia, 25 helichrysum and 200 geraniums, were stolen from Victoria Park’s flower beds last Thursday night (May 28).

“This incident has been reported to the police and we are currently reviewing CCTV footage in an effort to identify those responsible.

“Our parks team work exceptionally hard to keep open spaces across the Vale looking their best and such a destructive act is clearly completely unacceptable.”
