A GIRL from Malpas will undertake a cycling challenge next month to raise money for a Shropshire-based animal rescue centre.

On Saturday, June 6, Flo Rees, 4, will cycle 5km to raise money for Grinshill Animal Rescue.

Grishill Animal Rescue is a family run business, who for the last 26 years have been taking in unwanted dogs and cats and rehabilitating them.

According to mum Jo, Flo's love of dogs has been the main reason for undertaking the challenge, which is even more impressive as she only learned how to ride last summer.

Jo Said: "Flo has been inspired by her friend to raise money to help homeless dogs.

"Grinshill Dog Rescue is a family run rescue centre and she has chosen this as she loves dogs.

"Flo learnt to ride her bike last summer with no stabilisers and since grown in confidence and loves biking.

"She will do a 5km bike ride with no stopping on Saturday, June 6. She is looking forward to doing this and is enjoying practicing."

Although only aiming to raise £150, Flo has already beaten her target considerably, raising more than £600 so far, something rescue centre founder Jenny Martinez has praised.

"What a super star Flo is," said Jenny.

"This amazing 4-year-old wanted to help dogs in rescue so she decided to do a 5km bike ride on June 6.

"She has already smashed her target, please show your support to Flo and the animals she loves so much."
