SCHOOLS in Barry celebrated reading by taking part in World Book Day on Thursday, March 5.
Welsh Medium Primary school, Ysgol St Curig was one of the schools that took part – dressing up as characters from their favourite books.
Head teacher, Rhodri Jones spent the day dressed as an oopma loopah from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
World Book Day, in its’ 23rd year, is a registered charity aiming to give every child and young person a book of their own.
It celebrates authors, illustrators, books and is designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading.
More than 100 countries all over the world take part.
