BARRY Coastguard were tasked to attend an incident reported at Watchtower Bay, The Knap, Barry, at 10am on Sunday, March 1.
Station officer, Chris Fletcher said: “Reports came in of unattended fishing gear and a possible missing person who had been fishing.
“After investigation, the fisherman, who was first time to the area, had fallen and had injuries.”
A family member was called and the fisherman attended the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
A family member arrived to collect the fishing gear.
In an emergency dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
