A WELSH-MEDIUM primary school in Barry has celebrated Welsh Language Music Day (Friday, February 6) with song and dance.
Ysgol Gymraeg Sant Curig took part in a school disco and every pupil wrote their favourite Welsh songs which varied from Yws Gwynedd to Dafydd Iwan.
A school spokesman said: “There’s incredible music being made by Welsh artists and this is a day where we celebrate all kinds of music from rock to indie to hip-hop.
“The pupils danced and enjoyed themselves thoroughly to every song.”
The day celebrates Welsh music of all genres and is part of the Welsh Government’s long-term vision for growing the number of Welsh speakers to one million by 2050.
