AROUND 250 people dressed as Father Christmas raced 2km around Barry Island for the fourth annual Santa Fun Run on Sunday, December 8.
The Doggy Dash, following the start, saw 111 people and dogs take part.
The Barry Town Council-organised event saw participants raise money for Barry mayor, Cllr Margaret Wilkinson’s charities – Atal y Fro and The Intersensory Club.
Community engagement officer Robyn Walsh said: “The morning went really well. The support we received from community organisations was outstanding, as usual, and special thanks must go to the marshals which included the RAF Cadets, Army Cadets, Barry Scouts for providing medical cover and Marco’s for all their support.”
BTC awarded wooden medals to be re-used as keyrings, supplied carton water to show its commitment to a sustainable Barry.
