CENTRE Connor Edwards will make his first Dragons appearance in 18 months against Guinness PRO14 champions Leinster tomorrow evening after impressing boss Dean Ryan in training.

The 22-year-old from Croesyceiliog is one of two changes to the XV that upset title hopefuls Glasgow 18-5 at Rodney Parade last weekend.

The inside centre slots in next to Adam Warren in midfield at the Royal Dublin Society (kick-off 7.35pm) while blindside Harrison Keddie is back from a chest injury to join Taine Basham and Ollie Griffiths in the back row.

South Wales Argus:

Edwards made an impression with his physical approach when making 10 appearances in 2017/18 but injuries denied him the chance to push on last season.

The centre, who had a spell on loan at Hartpury in the English Championship, recently signed a new long-term deal with the Dragons and strong performances in the Celtic Cup and in training have earned a first team recall.

There are two changes on the bench with Ellis Shipp edging out Rhys Lawrence as back-up for hooker Richard Hibbard while Huw Taylor, who is replaced by Keddie, is chosen ahead of James Benjamin as back-row cover.

Leinster, who won just 3-0 against Zebre in Parma last weekend, are captained by Devin Toner.

The towering lock, who was controversially left out of Ireland's World Cup squad, leads a typically young but talented home side.

More experience comes in the shape of wings James Lowe and Dave Kearney and scrum-half Jamison Gibson-Park.
