A DANCE school has achieved a 100 per cent success rate in Royal Academy of Dance examinations during the last year.

All 63 pupils of the Barry-based Wendy Summerell School of Dance that successfully passed their exams from primary to grade eight and major levels with merit or distinction.

The school’s high standard of ballet and the girls’ hard work helped achieve these outstanding results.

This year Kia Harcourt has won a place at the sought-after Bird College of Dance, London to study for three years to obtain her dance degree.

Kate Parry, Bethany Slade, Megan Morgan and Cerys Lewis are all working as senior associates with Ballet Cymru.

Megan and Carys have also been chosen for the National Dance Company of Wales associate programme.

Ms Summerell is delighted to welcome Olivia Fleur Miles as teaching member of contemporary dance having completed a three-year degree training at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance London.

Ms Miles started with Ms Summerell when she was three years old and has worked tirelessly to achieve her qualifications.

Within the next year she will also qualify for the R.A.D teaching diploma.

The school now offers a wide variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap and contemporary.
