POLICE officers are investigating after a Royal Mail van was set alight in Barry in an incident firefighters have confirmed as "deliberate".

Firefighter from Barry fire station were called to Barry town centre around 1am on Monday, May 6.

A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: "Officers attended to the car park next to the Job Centre Plus, in Holton Road, on May 6 after receiving a report of a deliberate fire from the fire service shortly after 1am.
