LADIES from the Trefoil Guild (Wales) visited the RNLI Barry Dock Lifeboat station to meet coxswain Martin Bowmer and donate £435.
The donation, made on Tuesday, April 16, will go towards the day-to-day running of the station.
The money was raised at Brecon Cathedral.
The donation will directly fund the purchase of a bespoke weatherproof cover for the new Barry Dock RNLI ‘D-Class’ Inshore lifeboat which is due to go-live shortly.
This new craft will significantly increase the ability of the volunteer lifeboat crews to respond to incidents in-and-around the shoreline; rocks and cliffs as it can operate in very shallow water.
