VALE AM Jane Hutt held her annual Spring breakfast at Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) last week.

Wales is the first Fairtrade Nation and the breakfast was an opportunity to take stock and hear about ways that the government and communities can help promote Fairtrade.

CAVC students hosted the event and provided an excellent breakfast buffet.

Ms Hutt said: “It was wonderful to celebrate fairtrade fortnight at my annual Spring breakfast.

“I would like to thank Eluned Morgan AM, minister for international relations and Aileen Burmeister, national coordinator for Fairtrade Wales for their insightful and inspiring speeches.

“It was great to be joined by Cadoxton and Dinas Powys Primary schools, the Vale Youth Forum and mayors and Fairtrade activists from across the Vale.

“There are so many fairtrade activists across the Vale of Glamorgan and it was very worthwhile to bring groups and individuals together to share ideas and discuss ways in which Wales can make further strides.”
