AN EFFORT to celebrate and support high streets across the whole of the UK has been made in Barry – with the launch of a local guide.
The Barry Town Council shop local committee is working with local traders to help promote the town’s shopping areas and has produced a new Shop Local Barry Map.
Traders want to acknowledge the high streets at the heart of their local communities
The map will be making its way to the various tourist information points, local businesses, cafes and hotels across the town to inform and encourage both local residents and visitors to support their local high street.
BTC community development officer and shop local committee lead officer, Robyn Walsh said: “The map has been produced in collaboration with the traders across the town - Holton Road, Park Crescent, High Street, and Vere Street.
“We hope that it will remind residents of the great local shopping destinations, whilst informing visitors of what the town has to offer.”
Fay Blakeley, owner of Homemade Wales, in High Street, Barry, said: “The town has various and varied shopping areas and we hope that the map informs visitors and residents, whilst encouraging them to support their local shopping area.”
