CCTV images have been released of two men wanted in connection with an assault on a woman during a robbery at Brynhill (Barry) Golf Club.

Police in Barry are appealing for information, following the incident at the Port Road club on Sunday, July 22.

A South Wales police spokeswoman said: “Two males entered the golf club shortly before 11.40pm, where they grabbed a 39-year-old woman by the neck before making off with a money box and a quantity of bank notes from the till.

“The males were both wearing hooded tops, and one was also wearing a pair of sunglasses.”

Detective inspector Terry Hopkins said: “This was an aggressive robbery committed against someone who was just doing her job.

“We are supporting the victim but are also determined to bring those responsible to justice.

"We would urge anyone with information to get in touch with us or to call Crimestoppers, anonymously.”

Officers and Members of Brynhill Golf Club said they were appalled that a member of staff was assaulted in the club while carrying out her job.

The bar manager was preparing to leave the premises and was attacked by two men that entered the club.

A club spokesperson said: “They ran off with the bar takings and a red security tin.

“Extensive security procedures have now been put in place to prevent this from happening again.”

Captain of Brynhill, Mark Weaver added: “The well-being and safety of our staff is of utmost importance to us.”
