MORE than 5,000 people enjoyed the sunshine and music at the eighth annual Cadstock Festival in Victoria Park over the weekend.

The event, which took place across Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15, saw thousands turn up with friends and families to relax in the warm weather.

More than10 local bands put on a performance for the crowds, who were also treated to some songs from the Tenovus Choir.

With a bar, food and refreshments from the Friends Group, ice creams and bouncy castles for the kids, Cadstock has become Cadoxton’s own little bit of music history, organisers say.

Organiser Jon Greatrex said he believes Cadstock 2018 was the event’s best year yet.

“It was brilliant,” he said.

“The weather was lovely, the community was lovely.

“I can’t thank everyone enough. It was such a nice event.

“Over both days we had more than 5,000 people.

“It was great to see the community come together and everyone cleaned up after themselves.

“It was a great reflection of the people of Barry.”
